A Fairfax County judge has fixed a specific date for the jury trial of a Chantilly man accused of strangling his wife to death.
On May 24, 2025, Alexander William Towne, 33, called emergency dispatchers regarding his wife, Kim White, 32. First responders reached the house in the 16000 block of Bromall Court at 7:48 p.m. that evening. The criminal complaint records that Towne told dispatchers, “I don’t think she’s with us any longer.” He reported that he had choked White during an argument. A child was present in the home during the incident. Fairfax County police stated the child was not injured. The department noted it had not received prior calls for domestic incidents at that residence.
Court documents do not specify what the couple was arguing about. Towne remains in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond. He faces a charge of second-degree murder for White's death in 2025. On October 16, an order entered into the record set April 19, 2027, as the start date for the proceedings. The trial is scheduled to last five days in Fairfax County Circuit Court. Judge Christie Leary will preside over the case.
The next step in the legal process is the five-day jury trial set for next spring. Towne will appear before the court to face the homicide charge. The date is now locked into the judicial calendar for 2027.
