The reality television industry continues to expand its roster of celebrity participants. Hulu is producing a new unscripted series starring Whitney Leavitt, a former cast member of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Deadline reports that Hulu has not yet announced a title or a specific release date for the project. The platform teased the show through an Instagram Reel collaboration with Leavitt on Wednesday. The video addressed earlier fan speculation regarding a new series. Leavitt paired the clip with the caption, "see you soon."
The series will document Leavitt's personal life and professional goals. Deadline describes the premise as following Leavitt and her family as they manage her rising fame and career ambitions. The description notes that the family always puts family first. This approach aligns with the values Leavitt has expressed in previous public appearances.
Leavitt left the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in May during her final performance in the Broadway musical Chicago. She spoke about her decision to depart after the show's fifth season on Good Morning America. In that interview, she compared her time on the program to a chapter in a book that was ready to end. She stated that she had tried to leave multiple times but felt this final exit concluded the story well.
The new Hulu project is one of several upcoming commitments for Leavitt. She is also set to star in the Netflix holiday romantic comedy All for Love, which releases on Nov. 24. Additionally, she will appear in the Broadway production Just in Time, which begins on Dec. 1.
