151 months. That is the length of the federal prison term imposed on a San Antonio man who ran a cross-border drug operation. Alfredo Landin, 28, was sentenced in June for his role in importing and distributing narcotics. He is also known by the nickname "Fredo."

Court documents detail the scale of his operation. Landin arranged for drivers to transport at least 10 kilograms of narcotics at a time. The drivers used hidden compartments in vehicles to move the drugs from Mexico. His primary product was methamphetamine, but the shipment also included heroin.

Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Texas Department of Public Safety tracked the supply chain. On July 19, 2021, they intercepted a vehicle in Indian Creek. Inside, they found approximately 8 kilograms of meth and 3.5 kilograms of heroin. The load was bound for Landin.

The investigation led to Landin's arrest on April 19, 2024. He entered a guilty plea on March 4, 2025. Prosecutors handled the case in a separate proceeding where he admitted to trafficking methamphetamine. U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons noted that Landin sought financial gain by exploiting local communities. The new sentence will run concurrently with the other term.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Yuen prosecuted the case. The legal team emphasized the coordination between federal and state partners. They highlighted the successful interception of the large shipment just before it reached its destination in the San Antonio area.
