Cricket Australia's domestic season ended with a run-filled summer, and on Wednesday its books closed in the black. The governing body reported revenue of A$601.1 million and a net surplus of A$81.8 million for the 2025-26 financial year, up from a A$11.3 million loss the prior year.
Media rights deals tied to the men's home Ashes Tests and the white-ball series against India drove the result. Cricket Australia said those two series generated record media, commercial and match-day revenue. The Ashes drew 859,580 spectators across 18 days, averaging 47,754 per day.
On the field, the men's side beat England 4-1 to retain the Ashes. The women's team beat England in the ICC T20 World Cup final at Lord's for its seventh title. Against India last October and November, Australia took the one-day series 2-1 and India won the T20 series by the same score.
Cricket Australia also said losses are expected in the 2026-27 and 2027-28 financial years, citing a cyclical decline in media rights and match revenues tied to the international touring schedule.
The men's team is in South Africa for Tests. England visits for a white-ball series starting Nov. 13, four Tests against New Zealand run Dec. 9 to Jan. 8, and a five-Test series in India begins Jan. 21 in Nagpur.
