Tarrant County residents face a packed schedule for the final weekend of October and early November, with events scheduled across Fort Worth, Arlington, and Waxahachie.
The Tarrant County election office confirms that Friday, Oct. 30, is the final day for early voting in the upcoming midterm elections. Voters who have not cast their ballots must visit a polling location before the deadline to participate in the general election.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, multiple venues host Halloween-themed events. Billy Bob’s Texas welcomes Here Come the Mummies, an eight-piece band described as Egyptian mummies playing funk-rock, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 10 p.m. Tickets for that event begin at $28. In the same city, Sundance Square holds a Trunk or Treat event from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. that costs nothing to attend. Further north, Scarborough’s Hollow in Waxahachie runs its final days of the season from Saturday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 1. The festival features more than 20 live acts and 70 artisan shops. Food options include apple-pie nachos, s’mores funnel cake, and turkey legs. A special Día de los Muertos celebration is scheduled for Sunday.
In White Settlement, Maven’s Moon hosts a Samhain and Halloween Gathering from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Admission costs $5. The event includes a Samhain ceremony, a costume contest, and live music by Darrin Kobetich and Morgan & The Wright Tones. Dark Veil Troupe provides dance performances. The festival features live mariachi, street tacos, and a roaming Catrina. Cultura Markets runs a pop-up market selling handmade goods. Nearby, La Cabrona offers an all-you-can-eat buffet for $35. Free parking is available in five garages.
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, The Boiled Owl Tavern hosts the next installment of its Born Cursed series. The event is 21+ and starts at 9 p.m. with no cover charge.
