Alex Cooper Joins CAA With $500 Million Valuation
The Call Her Daddy host signs a new representation deal as her media company secures major funding.

Alex Cooper, the host of the podcast Call Her Daddy, has signed a new representation agreement with Creative Artists Agency. The deal covers Cooper, her husband Matt Kaplan, and their media company Unwell. This move follows her departure from United Talent Agency in August.
The agency switch comes shortly after Unwell closed a major funding round. An investment from WTSL, a firm backed by Silver Lake and led by Patrick Whitesell, valued the media company at $500 million. Cooper announced this financial milestone as the company prepares to expand its operations.
The timing of the new contract coincides with recent media reports about internal changes. Publications including Bloomberg and Vanity Fair noted staff turnover and uneasiness within the organization. Those reports identified Kaplan as a factor in the shifting staff dynamics during that period.
Unwell manages a wide range of creative projects beyond Cooper’s flagship show. The company’s slate includes the podcast Pretty Lonesome, hosted by Madeline Argy. It also maintains an active film and television division currently producing several projects for major streaming platforms.
Current productions under the Unwell banner include the Hulu documentary Call Her Alex. The company is also involved in The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special and the Netflix series Let’s Marry Harry. These titles mark the company’s entry into scripted and unscripted television content.
Several major adaptations are in the development pipeline. Netflix will adapt Icebreak, a bestselling novel by Hannah Grace. Unwell is also working on a feature film adaptation of Deep End by Ali Hazelwood. That project is being produced in collaboration with Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps production company.
The company is developing the drama series You Deserve To Know for Hulu. The series is slated to star Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley. Unwell has also expanded into original competition programming with the Unwell Winter Games and Unwell Summer Games on YouTube. In 2026, the company launched Unwell Agency, an internal division that has secured partnerships with Google and Sephora.
