Womack Group announced the creation of South Investors Week, a new investment forum that will launch in Cádiz during the spring of 2027. The event is scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 5, coinciding with the fifth edition of the South International Series Festival. This timing marks a strategic shift for the festival, which will move its main operations from the autumn to the spring season.

The forum is being organized in partnership with Mira Anta, an audiovisual investment fund promoted by Womack’s Mira Entertainment Capital. Anta Asset Management, a division of Corporación Financiera Azuaga, manages the fund. The new program is designed to bring together production companies and private financiers. It will include project pitches, investment presentations, and one-to-one meetings between industry leaders.

Organizers stated that the event targets investment funds, financial institutions, production firms, and audiovisual technology businesses. Participants will use the forum to present projects and expansion plans to potential partners. While international firms specializing in audiovisual finance are expected to attend, no specific companies have been named yet as participants.

The initiative is supported by the Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I, which launched in May. The fund registered with Spain’s CNMV financial regulator in June and has set a fundraising target of €80 million, equivalent to $90.1 million. The capital is intended to acquire stakes in audiovisual companies and provide financing for individual productions.

The fund’s investment strategy includes participatory loans tied to presales, distribution agreements, and tax incentives. It also covers gap financing and investments in virtual production and artificial intelligence applications. José Carlos Conde, president of Mira Entertainment Capital and CEO of Womack Group, said the Spanish audiovisual industry has talent and production capacity but needs new financial tools to realize its full potential.

Sergio Torras Soler, a financier involved in developing the fund, noted that investment can contribute to the growth of companies, infrastructure, and business models beyond just financing productions. Womack Group, which produces the South festival, is behind Mira Entertainment Capital. In January, Womack Studios announced a partnership with Mexico-based Punta Fina Studios to establish a $47 million fund for developing series and films targeting Latin America and U.S. Hispanic audiences.

The fourth edition of the South International Series Festival ran from October 30 to November 4 in Cádiz. The event combined series premieres, creative talks, and industry events. The new investment forum will expand the festival's focus to include deeper financial connections for the audiovisual sector.
