Lamar Jackson took the field for a full practice session on Wednesday, marking his first complete participation since an ankle injury sidelined him for the last three games. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback is now cleared to practice without restriction ahead of their matchup against the Buffalo Bills. His return comes at a critical juncture for the team, which has navigated the early season with the starting quarterback missing from the roster.

In Detroit, the Lions opened the 21-day practice window for All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph. Joseph, who missed the final 11 games of the 2025 season due to a degenerative knee condition, participated in Wednesday's session in a limited fashion. This is the first time he has practiced since sustaining that injury last season. The team listed several other players as non-participants or limited, including running back Jahmyr Gibbs and edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson.

The injury reports across the league showed a mix of recoveries and continuing absences. The Carolina Panthers entered their Thursday night game against the Green Bay Packers without linebacker Jaelan Phillips, cornerback Akayleb Evans, and two offensive linemen. Green Bay also faced a depleted offensive line, with center Sean Rhyan and right guard Travis Glover ruled out. The Packers are expected to start third-stringer John Williams at center for the first time.

Other teams reported extensive lists of players missing or limited in practice. The Tennessee Titans did not practice with wide receiver Carnell Tate, punter Tommy Townsend, and running back Tyjae Spears. The New York Jets listed six players as non-participants, including edge rusher David Bailey and offensive lineman Max Mitchell, who is still recovering from a concussion. The Philadelphia Eagles had six players out, including running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Devonta Smith.

Some players returned to full activity despite recent setbacks. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes practiced fully on Wednesday, while Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II also participated without limitation after an ankle issue. The Jacksonville Jaguars listed safety Antonio Johnson as the only non-participant, while the Indianapolis Colts held a walkthrough session, making practice statuses an estimation for their roster.

The Buffalo Bills had only offensive tackle Spencer Brown listed as a non-participant on Wednesday. Several key players, including wide receiver DJ Moore and defensive tackle Ed Oliver, were limited by shoulder and knee injuries, respectively. The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers both reported multiple players limited or out, with the Steelers listing six non-participants including edge rusher T.J. Watt and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.
