Skylar Carlisle will go before a judge on Dec. 10.
The 28-year-old Eastpointe resident pleaded guilty on Nov. 5 to carrying a concealed weapon. This charge stems from a July 28 incident where police say he and Robert Bates stole a vehicle at gunpoint.
Grosse Pointe Woods police report that the two men took a rented 2021 Cadillac Escalade from a father and daughter. The suspects later abandoned that car and fled in a different vehicle. They were arrested after crashing that second car during a police pursuit.
Bates, 37, of Detroit, remains charged on multiple counts. His list includes carjacking, third-degree fleeing and eluding, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He also faces three counts of felony firearm with a second-offense notice and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors charged Bates as a fourth-offense habitual offender. That designation could lead to enhanced penalties if he is convicted. He also faces charges for altering identification marks on a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
Carlisle’s remaining charges include carjacking, assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of felony firearm. He was also charged with altering identification marks on a firearm.
