Jennifer Kapral, Executive Director of Preservation Houston, discussed the recent demolition of the Kirby Mansion in Houston’s Midtown neighborhood. The conversation aired on the local public media program Hello Houston on October 30, 2026. Kapral provided details regarding the building’s history and its role in the development of the city.

The program also featured a Halloween-themed segment with Tessa Barerra. She interviewed three members of Ghost Hunting Beauties, an all-female team based in Houston. The group specializes in investigating haunted locations and paranormal activity. This segment was part of a special edition of the show’s recurring feature, Tessa Takes On.

In the second hour, the broadcast shifted to health topics. Dr. Sandra F. Templeton, Medical Director of Breast Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital, joined breast cancer survivor Vanessa Plascencia. The two discussed breast health, treatment options, and the importance of early detection for patients.

The final segment, Last Minute Plans, listed upcoming events for the Halloween weekend in the Houston area. Hosts Ernie Manouse and Tessa Barerra reviewed these options to help residents plan their schedules. This regular Friday feature concludes the weekly lineup of the show.

Throughout the broadcast, the hosts reviewed top local stories. These included a grand jury indictment of an ICE agent who struck a Houston immigrant with a federal vehicle. The Texas Attorney General’s Office also filed a lawsuit against the Harris County Clerk’s Office. A new poll from Texas Southern University showed close contests for several major Texas offices.
