New Jersey authorities reopened the scene of a fatal stabbing Wednesday at a home in Chester, New Jersey, where Brooke Hanlon died in June.
Neighbors reported that at least 15 law enforcement vehicles parked on Pottersville Road. Officers remained at the residence until approximately 11 p.m. Conor Hanlon, the victim's husband, spoke with police during the afternoon.
The Morris County Prosecutor's Office stated there are no new updates in the case. No arrests have been made. Hanlon denies involvement in her death.
Officials released an autopsy report weeks prior to this return. The report ruled the death a homicide caused by sharp force injuries. This finding aligns with the initial determination made by the prosecutor's office in June.
Records from a 911 call show Conor Hanlon was the first to find his wife unresponsive. He told the operator there was a laceration on her body. The operator instructed him on how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Hanlon said on the call, "I just found my wife (inaudible) CPR, I need CPR instructions." He also stated, "I need you here. I need you here immediately."
Brooke Hanlon leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter. Officials have not disclosed if a murder weapon was located. Neighbors said Conor Hanlon has recently spent nights at the Chester home. He previously split his time between New Jersey and the Boston area. The family previously told reporters, "We have full and unwavering confidence in the investigative efforts of law enforcement."
