Williamson County officials confirmed the status of seven roadway projects in and around Georgetown on November 1, 2026. One recently finished road has been renamed, while others remain in active construction or the design phase.

The first completed project involves the reconstruction of CR 255. Workers built a new two-lane roadway alongside the existing road between CR 254 and CR 289. The road opened to drivers on August 24. County officials renamed the street Tucker Parkway.

Three major projects are currently under construction. Chasco Constructors began work on the Ronald Reagan Boulevard widening Segment B in 2024. This project builds a two-lane southbound roadway from Hwy. 29 to FM 3405 and converts the existing road to northbound traffic only. The contractor expects to finish this work in late 2027. On RM 2243, known locally as Hero Way, construction for Phase 1A began in January 2026. This section covers about 3.5 miles between 183A and Garey Park. Chasco Constructors is handling the reconstruction, realignment, and widening of this stretch. A third active project is the CR 110 North extension. Work began in early 2026 to extend the road north from CR 111, or Rockride Lane, to connect with Patriot Way at Sam Houston Avenue.

Two projects are in the design stage. For the ramps at Hwy. 195 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, the first northbound exit ramp opened on August 24. Engineers are currently reviewing design alternatives for the remaining three ramps. The final schematic for those ramps is expected in fall 2027. Design work also continues on Phase 2A of the RM 2243 widening. This phase will widen the road from 183A to Ronald Reagan Boulevard. Officials anticipate completing the final revised schematic by summer 2028.

One upcoming project involves the reconstruction of CR 175. The plan is to reconstruct and widen the road from south of Creek Meadow Cove to RM 2243. Preliminary design work reached the 30 percent mark in fall 2025. The final design for this reconstruction is expected in 2027.
