Patio seating and dining rooms at Slice House by Tony Gemignani on Preston Road in Frisco have been empty since mid-October. The restaurant, which opened on Jan. 23, 2026, was the celebrity chef's only location in the state. It now sits closed as the company works out a path forward.

CultureMap Dallas first reported that the fast-casual pizzeria at 5995 Preston Road shut its doors quietly. A company representative confirmed the closure to the Houston Chronicle on Oct. 30, 2026. The representative said the chain is currently in discussions with the property manager to decide on next steps.

Gemignani built his reputation as a 13-time World Pizza Championship winner before expanding his brand. The original Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza & Slice House opened in San Francisco in 2010 next to his flagship pizzeria. That location served as the model for the franchise system, which now includes 38 open restaurants and 111 sites in various stages of development, according to the representative.

The Frisco location served thin-sliced New York, deep-dish Detroit, pan-fried Grandma, and thick Sicilian style pizzas. It was the brand's debut in Texas. The company stated its intention to reopen the specific franchise, though it has not announced a timeline. Customers are being directed to social media channels for updates on the Preston Road location.

Despite the temporary closure in Frisco, the Slice House representative said the company remains committed to the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Plans are in place to open additional locations in the region, suggesting the Frisco shutdown is an isolated operational issue rather than a full withdrawal from the state.
