President Donald Trump offered the White House press secretary job to UFC chief Dana White on Saturday.
The announcement appeared in a post on Truth Social. Trump described White as a "violent Fighter and Warrior." He said he was pleased to extend the offer to the 55-year-old executive.
In the same message, Trump suggested White bring a specific group of assistants. He listed Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris. The president noted that some of these individuals are not from the United States. He wrote that they are needed to defend the administration against the "Lunatic Left."
It is not yet clear if White has accepted the role. A UFC spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The offer adds another layer to a turbulent period for the position.
Katie Zacharia previously held the title. She was removed in October after just five days on the job. That marks the shortest tenure for a White House press secretary in history. Zacharia had taken over from Karoline Leavitt, who served from Jan. 20, 2025, through Aug. 27.
Leavitt stepped down in October to become a contributor at Fox News Channel. At age 27, she was the youngest person to hold the post. Last week, Trump also considered musician Nikki Minaj for the job during an interview. He called the idea good and said he would think about it.
