Jay-Z will perform the halftime show for Super Bowl LXI. The National Football League, Apple Music, and the rapper confirmed the selection on Monday. The game is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The announcement arrived during the Monday night game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. Apple Music posted the news on social media with the caption, "GOAT's out of the bag." In a statement, Jay-Z reflected on his journey from his debut album to this platform. "Thirty years of music, work and culture on the world's biggest stage," he said. "This streak continues to be a dream come true."
Roc Nation, Jay-Z's company, has produced the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year extension to continue that role through 2029. Under Roc Nation's production, the shows have featured more hip-hop and rap artists. Last year's performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, starred Bad Bunny with special appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
The previous Los Angeles-based halftime show in 2022 featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Other recent performers include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023. Despite his long association with the NFL and previous performers, Jay-Z had never previously taken the Super Bowl stage.
The Grammy winner is currently on tour to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The Jay-Z 30 tour began with three nights at Yankee Stadium in July. He then performed two shows in London and one in Paris in September.
His next scheduled concerts will take place on October 23 and October 24 at SoFi Stadium. These dates at the same venue will serve as a direct preparation for his upcoming Super Bowl appearance.
